AVEDA PUREFUME BRILLIANT EMOLLIENT FOR HAIR

Aveda Purefume brilliance serum is quite simply the most luxurious, most sensuous and to put it bluntly most expensive hair product I have ever experienced!

I have long, thick, dry hair, which needs lots of conditioner to make it smooth and shiny. Sometimes though, no matter how much conditioner I use I still do not get the silkiness I would like.

I have tried numerous lotions and potions on my hair to try and make it shine, but nothing seemed to work. I tried shining sprays, which just ended up making my hair look greasy, I tried serums, but they all smelt hideous and gave me a headache.

Then I discovered the Aveda range of haircare products, and became totally addicted. to their brand of 100% naturally based hair and skin care range. I noticed there was a hair serum in the haircare range, which promised shiny, well-conditioned locks, but at £18 I refused to try it!

As my hair grew longer and longer, I realised I needed a haircare product that would repair and protect my precious hair. So, I decided to splash out and treat myself to a bottle of the magic fluid, and hoped it would prove worthy of the high price tag

I took my extravagant gift home with me, and immediately went to the mirror to try this luxurious serum. I soon found out just how wonderful and concentrated this stuff is!

As I said, I have tried serums before but always found that I needed to use lots more than the recommended amount to see any effect. So, obviously I presumed the same would apply to the Aveda serum.

Aahhh… how wrong I was! I put about six or seven pumps out of the dispenser into my palm, I rubbed my hands together to spread the serum around, and then continued to apply the serum all over my hair. I then brushed it through. What did I look like? Well, to say I looked like I’d dipped my head in a vat of oil wouldn’t be an understatement!

>So, the next day I washed and blow dried my hair as usual, and decided to try again with the serum, this time being a lot less generous with the rich fluid.

I applied it gradually, one pump at a time, first applying it to the ends of my hair where it is most dry. Then I worked a little on the top of my head to give a bit of shine to the roots of my hair and stop it from becoming flyaway.

And oh, what a wonderful outcome this gave me. My hair looked silky, shiny and the broken ends seemed to disappear. My hair was sleek and straight, just like on the adverts!

All well and good, I hear you cry, but what do you actually get for 18 smackeroonies? Well, you get a lovely blue glass container, with a pump action dispenser top which pumps out just a few drops at a time. Now, some people may accuse me of having a dirty mind here but the stuff squirts out of the pump like something unmentionable!

There are 90mls of serum in the pretty bottle, which in my estimation should last a year with regular use.

The actual serum itself is made completely of natural ingredients, all derived from plants, flowers and fruits. It is quite an oily serum, and contains no alcohol. You can use the serum on dry hair to give concentrated shine and control, or on damp hair as an all over conditioner.

I have now been using Aveda Purefume Brilliance for several months and have found it absolutely fantastic. The first thing you notice when you use this product is the fabulous smell. It is absolutely divine; it smells fresh and floral without being sweet. I would say it is definitely a feminine scent though, so I wouldn’t recommend it for men (unless you like smelling of geraniums!)

When I have been to a smoky pub or club, and can’t be bothered to wash my hair, this product is really useful, as you can just put a few drops in your hair and immediately the smell of cigarettes is gone. My hair smells fresh and clean.

>I would recommend this product to anyone with long dry hair. I would not recommend it for people with short hair, unless it is very course or curly, as it is more likely to make your hair look lank and greasy than shiny. The best option for people with short hair is the less concentrated shine hair spray in the Aveda Brilliance range.

If anyone out there has very damaged or dry hair then I really do urge you to try this product. It may seem expensive but I have had my bottle for four months and I have only used about one eighth of the contents, so it really does not work out to be expensive.

For example, ‘Frizz Ease’ is £7 a bottle and has far less contents than Aveda’s hair serum bottle contains.

As with all things in life, you get what you pay for and the quality of this product really is amazing, unlike anything else I have tried before.

I've just read your profile. Just wanted to say I empathise. I have ME and sometimes my head is so wooly that I can barely write my name, let alone anything half-literate. I comfort myself with the fact that I know I do come out of the down times, even if they do feel like they are going on forever. Hope you feel better soon. I'm sure no-one minds if you don't read all their stuff. Huggles Mxx
