Advantages: Handy Sized Holdall
Disadvantages: Oil Based Tattoo Paints
With Christmas drawing near I felt you all should be warned, as this could/would make a nice stocking filler. I recently purchased a Action Man Battlepack for my son as we were going on holiday. It's a handy waterproof holdall with the Action Man logo with blue camouflage etc.which contained a body wash and camouflage tattoo paint kit. Great, this could encourage my son to take more baths! - I thought the camouflage tattoo paint was intended for the bath similar to the bath soap crayons. So I ran the bath poured in the body wash and let my son loose with the tattoo kit. My son called from the bathroom, help!!! I can't get this off, rushing to find out what he had done, wondering on the way if he'd managed to get his toe stuck in the tap or something more sinister, only to find him black and blue, almost totally covered with the tattoo paint. Don't worry we'll soon get this off I said reasuringly - after copious amounts of soap & water all we had managed to do was spread the oil based tattoo paint further. What a mess - the only good thing is that the Action Man body wash along with one of those net sponge things and a bit of elbow grease worked in the end, but left greasy blobs of black and blue oil on and around the bath. So please be careful if you purchase this product. The tattoo paint is not for the bath, it will stain and is very hard to remove. I would recommend you remove the paints completly. However, the holdall is a nice size for kids to put their own bits in.

- 20/10/00 If I were you,I'd e-mail the manufacturer and tell them what happened. They may not be aware of the problem and you
just might get something kind of comp in the form of vouchers etc. After all, look how much distress it caused! |
