Advantages: nice smell, cleans well
Disadvantages: Smell dont last all that long
After a recommendation from Gill1960 in her opinion on the same subject today, I went to the chemists (because I get 20% off all purchases there, what can I say, I’m a damn nice guy!!) and bought myself a bottle of Adidas Energising Shower Gel. It cost £2.59 before my discount, so it could be a little on the pricey side, but compared to a lot of womens products out there, not all that hard on the old back pocket! I must admit, I don’t usually use shower gel, I’m normally quite happy with a bar of good old soap, but when it was mentioned that this had a really nice, long lasting fragrance, this was for me! The fragrance I chose was ‘Sport Fever’ which comes in an orange bottle topped off with a grey twist and open lid. It’s nothing really special, just a plastic bottle really, with studs down the sides to help you grip it better in the shower with your slippery hands (or whatever else you decide to pick your bottle up with!!). You get 250ml of the stuff for your money, and me being a typical miser probably uses about 15ml per shower, so not too bad, however, my tiddly 15ml might have led to the problems I encountered with the shower gel. The back of the stuff tempts you into buying the product stating “Experience Adidas Energising Shower Gel, born from our in-depth skin & body knowledge. This unique formula thoroughly cleanses and refreshes your skin. Recharge your body with an intense sensation of freshness and energy” Hmmm, a shower gel can really do all that!? Surely not, so I put it to the test….. Now, this is where some of the girls on here start to make us men all weak at the knees by telling us how they rubbed the slippery gel all over their soft skin. I won’t do that to you I promise, thinking of me doing something like that will put you off enough to get me chucked off dooyoo, so your safe guys and girls! So, I got in the shower and washed like
a man does, forgetting about the gel, then remembered and had to wash all over again! Doh, as if once isn’t enough! So I squeezed a little bit of the orange gunk onto my hand and plonked it on myself. There was no lather, nothing at all, apart from a coupe of pathetic bubbles, I wasn’t impressed. But I will forgive it, it smelt quite nice, a kind of, well, shower gel smell. It came off easily and didn’t make you feel too slippery and all was done. I did test out the lather effect a bit more in my hands and it takes a hell of a lot of rubbing to get that white effect all over the place I can tell you, but after all my hard work I got there in the end!! Phew! The smell test can’t be done by the person in the shower, and I wasn’t about to go get someone to smell the bathroom after I had had a shower, so I simply went back in 2 minutes later to tidy up my mess and was confronted by a nice, clean smell, a kinda ‘lynx’ type smell. I was impressed, so I got someone to smell me at the cost of my dignity (I was clothed by this point I have to say!). They couldn’t smell much at all, just a tiny hint of the gel, which wasn’t what I was really hoping for. I wanted to have a really clean smell to me, it’s not really what I got. Maybe I didn’t use enough of the gel, I dunno, but you shouldn’t have to use loads to get a decent aroma, that afterall means your gonna have to spend more each time your shower, and I aint having that! As for the refreshing comment that the bottle promises it does well. Every shower you have will refresh you, but this did make me feel more refreshed than standard soap, cleaner, nicer and a bit more relaxed. I don't know if it's a concious thing, maybe we just 'think' were more refreshed, but this certainly was better than anything else I have tried. It’s ok, and I would buy it again, maybe a different scent next time. Gill1960, I̵
7;m going to have to disagree with you on this one, although I bought a different scent, it wasn’t half as good as you said in your opinion, I hold you soley responsible for the £2.09p I shelled out for this stuff! I give it 4 stars, saved by it's refreshing nature, anyone else got any recommendations for shower gel which will make me smell pretty (ahem….manly!)
