If you don`t want to spend money on a book, then just type face painting in any search engine and you will find loads of sites full of faces for you to copy. I prefer my book though as it starts you off on just the basics then moves on to more difficult faces. This is all done in a step-by-step layout with detailed pictures for every stage. The guides are really easy to follow and produce some amazing faces at the end. It does take a bit of ...more

Premium Review Other Body Art: Slapping on the old war paint (555 words)
by - written on 30/10/01 (Very useful, 240 readings)
Rating:

If you want to have some fun with your kids then why not have a go at face painting. This is the perfect time to try something different with halloween coming up. I first got into it about two years ago when I found an excellent book at a car boot sale. The Complete Book Of Face Painting normally retails for £7.99 at craft shops but I paid the pricely sum of 50p. Once I`d flicked through the book I couldn`t wait to get started, so off I went in search of some face paints. The best places to find them are craft shops, and depending on how adventurous you want to be, then there are lots of different sets to choose from. I started off with ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Glitter -slap it on or slapperish? (359 words)
by - written on 21/07/00 (Very useful, 63 readings)
Rating:

Glitter, there is a big debate at the minute, well amongst my group of friends anyway as to whether glitter is a good thing to wear when going out, or whether it is infact a bit tarty and should be avoided at all cost? Glitter has become one of those clubbing essentials, it gives you that bit of shine that gets you noticed and will glisten in the lights of clubs which can look pretty fab in the right situation. It is so versatile and you can buy it in the spray can form which is good for hair and body, although you lose some control and have a tendancy to have your clothes covered in it! You can also buy it in roll ons which give greater precison as you can just ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Other Body Art: Nail tranfers. (182 words)
by - written on 03/09/00 (Very useful, 178 readings)
Rating:

If you're like me and love anything to do with nails, anything from nail polish to nail piercing then you are going to love nail transfers. You can buy them from most beauty places like Boots, Superdrug and even the markets sell them, it's better to buy them from your local market, off of the beauty stall, as they are that little bit cheaper. They only cost about £1.99 and you get loads, they come on a squarish bit of paper and in all sorts of different designs. You can buy a pack containing glitter ones that come in pastel colours with a hint of glitter to give you that extra glitzy look. You've got the animal ones with little frogs, chicks, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Superdrug body art (112 words)
by - written on 07/08/00 (Useful, 73 readings)
Rating:

I have always wanted to get a tattoo, but the thought of it being permanent and the fact that I change my mind so often puts me off. When the body painting and Henna craze took off it meant I could finally have something done. Superdrug offers a brilliant range of body paints and they come in a wide range of colours. They last for a few days as long as you don’t scrub at them. The paint comes in mascara like container with a small brush suitable for most designs you might want to try. It was not too expensive and there is quite a bit of paint in there. ...  Read the complete review
