Advantages: Handy spray bottle

Disadvantages: It doesn't work, It smell awful, You may £13 to find this out!

So What Is It?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Clinique Anti-Blemish Back and chest spray is part of the hugely successful Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions range. I own several products from this range which I have been very happy with so I decided to give this product a try for both myself and for my fiancé.

Clinique claims that this spray helps to prevent and clear acne. It is an anti bacterial, oil free spray designed to easily control the outbreak of spots.

Why Did I Think It Was For Me?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Occasionally we all get spots in hard to reach areas such as on our shoulders, back, back of legs and bum. I find it really hard to get rid of these spots as it is hard to put any spot clearing cream or gel on them and it is often embarrassing to ask someone else to help you ? I do not really want to highlight my spots to anyone. So the idea of a spray that can be used at any angle and treat the area you desire sounded ideal to me.

I also had been looking for something specifically for my fiancés chest and back as he gets a few irritable spots there. He's also cursed with a very hairy back which can irritate the spots even more. My fiancé, like most men, does not like too much fuss, so this spray sounded ideal. All he had to do was let me spray and leave it to dry for a couple of minutes and that was it ? all done. It was sounded perfect for both our needs.

Also with the summer fast approaching and our imminent wedding I wanted us both to look as good as possible. With the higher temperatures beginning to creep in my fiancé gets very sweaty and this can irritate the spots on his back so I was hoping to get rid of them for him so he could feel more comfortable and also confident.

How is it packaged?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
The spray is sold in just one size, 100ml (3.4 FL.OZ) and comes in a green plastic bottle, about the size of a deodorant can. The bottle has the usual sleek minimalist Cl
inique design to it and has the ?C? trademark Clinique logo and the Clinique name in shiny silver on the front of the can. The bottle is ?Clinique Green? ? their usual pale green theme and has a transparent cap to it. The sprayer is white and very unusually does not unscrew. I'm not quite sure why it does not unscrew but I guess it is so you can?t refill the bottle. The bottle is 100% recycleable but not made out of recycled plastic ? all makes sense doesn?t it!

The packaging is the usual sleek, expensive looking Clinique design. I was pleased it was not also packaged it a box as I feel they can sometimes be a little wasteful on their packaging and less can be more!

So What Does It Claim?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Clinique claims that this product will ?help? to clear blemishes and prevent any further outbreaks on your skin. The spray is oil free and is meant to sooth your skin and reduce any redness and irritation. The spray is clear to prevent any staining to clothes or bedding and they claim it dries quickly on the skin without actually drying the skin.

What Does It Smell Like?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
As with all Clinique products this product is 100% fragrance free. The spray is clear in colour and smells like disinfectant, not the pine sort but like a hospital ward! The smell is not very attractive and it does linger, though it can easily be drowned out with body spray or perfume. I normally support fragrance free products but that is because they don?t normally smell horrible. Neither my fiancé nor myself find this smell attractive and I feel slightly conscious of the smell when I am around other people. I do not like products that make me feel uncomfortable.

How Easy Is It To Use?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
It is extremely quick and easy to use with the spray being able to be used at any angle. You do not have to hold the spray too close to the skin as it has a fairly good area of cover. I
tend to use the spray about 6 inches away from the skin and give it a couple of sprays and all done.

The spray is quite cold in contact to the skin and can certainly make you jump if you are not ready for it. There is one advantage of the spray being so cold ? you do know where you have sprayed and whether you hit the spot you were aiming for. The spray comes out as a fine mist and covers the skin well. Holding the bottle about 6 inches away gives you about 4 inches sq of cover. I was really happy how little you had to use and how far it went.

Do You Feel An Immediate Effect?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Well, the first shock to your system is the burst of cold, then the mild stinging and next the full impact of the anti bacterial, disinfectant like smell hints you fully ? wow what a feeling! The spray dries after a couple of minutes and has never marked our clothes or bedding. You feel a slight tightening of the skin as it dries but nothing uncomfortable.

How Often Can You Use?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
At first Clinique recommend you use it once a day for the first week or so and then increase up to two or three times a day. We followed these instructions and used it morning, late afternoon and just before bed.

Any Improvement A Week Later?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
None whatsoever. Neither of us had felt our skin looked better. We both used it in a variety of places on our bodies and had not seen any improvement. The spots were still red and angry looking; we had even got a couple of new spots next to the ones we had been treating so the spray should have prevented these. We were not impressed but we persisted and increased our use of the spray up from once a day to three times a day.

One Month On, Any Better?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
We tried this product for another few weeks deciding that it just might take some time to start working, but it never did. It d
id not irritate our skin or make anything worse then it would have got untreated but the point was we spent £13 on a product claiming to make a big difference. I really did feel conned by Clinique as I have used their products for a few years now and built a great trust in them.

Their products are very expensive but I have always found them great value for money because they work and they last. When I buy cheaper brands I always tend to be unsatisfied and I throw them away and try something else. I would much rather have one product that works well and just pay the once rather than buy loads of cheap, bad quality products that get disregarded after a few weeks. Their accumulative cost would be higher than purchasing one more expensive product and sticking to it.

Would I Buy It Again?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Um, let me think about this, NO! It did not do anything it claimed to and left me feeling cheated.

Do I Recommend It?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
I do not recommend that anyone tries this product. Clinique clear blemish gel is brilliant for treating individual spots, though unlike the spray you will have to get someone to help you for hard to reach areas.

How Much Is It And Where Can I Buy It?
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
It costs £13 and can be bought at Clinique counters found at larger stores of Boots, selected chemists and large department stores such as Debenhams, Hoopers and Harrods. You can get cheaper deals from the internet and save up to £2, though remember the cost of delivery brings the price up and you won?t get any freebies or personal advice.

Conclusion
*^*^*^*^*^*^*
I am not happy with this product at all and it did not live up to any of it claims. For such a well known brand this is a huge disappointment and I think I will try and get samples of any new product in the anti blemish range before possibly wasting my money again.

It is such a good idea to
have this product in a spray can, it is just a shame they didn?t actually have a good product to go in it.
