Newest Review: ... day gift.I was well happy that I had got some smelly instead of socks etc.But I am going to sound ungrateful when I say that ... more

... I had other EDTs and aftershaves well up the pecking order when I first applied it,to see how it smelled. As a couple of hours went by I had another smell of wear I had sprayed...and I was won over...It really is a good buy,I'm now on my third bottle in just over two years,I'm running out,I'll be getting more. You can still smell it on your clothes after a night out,and I have had plenty off compliments of the lasses!! (I do behave!!) Don't try the other coloured boxes with 1881 on....ONLY GREEN..the others are awful....more

Premium Review Other Cologne/Aftershave: Do it to XS (754 words)
by - written on 27/11/01 (Very useful, 313 readings)
Rating:

Paco Rabanne's XS pour Homme fragrance has been on the market for a while now, having been launched in 1993, with a female version (unsurprisingly named XS pour Elle) being launched the following year, and they still sell well, even if they are no longer the most sought after scents. Aged 17, I can remember that this was the first aftershave I ever bought, and that was in the days when I could invariably only afford a single bottle, which would have to last me ages. At the time it seemed a very strong and long lasting fragrance, although when I discovered Carolina Herrera for Men (another old faithful!) which is very similar to XS except about twice as ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review What a man! (631 words)

Don't let the title fool you, this ain't a description about men in general, no, it is an opinion on Givenhy's Pi range of products. Why the title? Apparently the Pi range of products is aimed at the "energetic and sensual" male. Since I didn't even buy the product myself, I am not sure how that applies to me, but here is the op: I have quite a few of these designer cologne's and I have to admit that Pi is my favourite. Firstly the setup: I never like the idea of buying the EDT or the aftershave on its own, I think that conflicting smells on your body will make a mess of things. Hence, I used to buy the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Other Cologne/Aftershave: Who's The Coolest Of Them All (779 words)

Mirror Mirror on the wall who’s the Coolest of them All – “Cool Water of course” was the reply. After my first escapade with writing a fragrance opinion I am now embarking on my second one, which was due thanks in part to the wonderful and supportive comments that I received by the members of this site. Davidoff’s Cool Water is essentially my Number 1 choice and the one that I have been using for close to six years now. During my lifetime I must have tried at least thirty different brands. When the one was over I would promptly purchase a different another all in the hope that the next one might be just the right ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review One sniff and I'm anybody's! (318 words)

If there’s a fragrance that is guaranteed to make me go weak at the knees it is the unmistakable smell of Aramis. By the way I am talking about the after-shave not the musketeer. I just love the smell of Aramis after-shave. It is as simple as that. It is a subtle, woody extremely sexy smell without being overpowering and heavy. It is very similar in fragrance to Clinique’s Aromatics Elixir, which I also adore. I buy it for Dave and when he wears it he’s sure to get lots of hugs from me so that I can have a good sniff of the Aramis! Do enjoy hugging him anyway – honestly! At about £30 for the 60 ml bottle it is a bit ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Other Cologne/Aftershave: Givenchy Pi. To infinity and Beyond (543 words)

Well, that is what I tihnk about when I put on my Pi aftershave. Reason being that their marketing campaign used an Astronaut looking down on it through his helmet. Did not understand the advert but it was one hell of an advertising campaign! "Why?" I hear you ask. Well, It came with a small tester bottle in my Loaded magazine about 3 years ago. It was fresh out on the scene at the time and a new fragrance to try. Only problem was, I could not remember what it was called. The tester lasted 2 wearings, by which time I had got my girlfriend (now wife) interested in the fragrance. "mmm, I like that. You should buy some" Great ...  Read the complete review
