Mirror Mirror on the wall who’s the Coolest of them All – “Cool Water of course” was the reply.

After my first escapade with writing a fragrance opinion I am now embarking on my second one, which was due thanks in part to the wonderful and supportive comments that I received by the members of this site.

Davidoff’s Cool Water is essentially my Number 1 choice and the one that I have been using for close to six years now.

During my lifetime I must have tried at least thirty different brands. When the one was over I would promptly purchase a different another all in the hope that the next one might be just the right one for me.

My journey finally came to an end about six years ago when I experienced Cool Water for the first time.

Cool Water is produced by Davidoff who are the giant tobacco manufacturers. This seems to the norm nowadays with many major fashion houses, tobacco companies and others entering into the fragrance industry.

Personally I only use the Eau De Toilette/Cologne, which comes in bottles of 2.5 oz and 4.2 oz. Like other brands they do offer other products in the Cool Water range such as; After Shave, After Shave balm, deodorant spray and a few others.

Now back to my appraisal of the product.

The Box
----------
The box is a regular shaped rectangular shaped box in a two-tone turquoise blue colour. The wordings “Davidoff Cool Water” are written in a striking Italic script. Overall the box does look quite elegant but does not overdo the eloquence. Rather it looks like something that you wouldn’t hesitate picking up from the shelve and having a look at.

The Bottle
-------------
The bottle is almost the same colour as the box but in the single shade of turquoise blue. You can see the liquid in the bottle but not the liquid’s colour. The same italics are used for the name. It has a black colour cap, which go
es over the spray nozzle and is fully detachable.

The Smell
------------
Now to the hard part. The smell as advertised by the company is classified as a refreshing, spicy, lavender, ambery fragrance. The scent possesses a blend of lavender, jasmine, oakmoss, musk and sandalwood.

I must reiterate that the above description is what has been advertised by the makers. In this regard I would like to go through some of them separately and give my opinion:

Refreshing – Yes. I totally and utterly agree. The name itself reverberates freshness and the product likewise. This is one of the primary reasons that Cool Water is my favourite fragrance.

Spicy – Tricky one. Personally I can’t get that spicy effect.

Lavender/Amber – Yes I agree. You can certainly feel the elements of these two.

Jasmine/Oakmoss/Sandalwood – Tricky again. It does probably possess these qualities but they are very hard to determine due to the multitude of different smells all combined into one fragrance. I unfortunately cannot feel these.

Musk – Yes. It does have the musky masculine feeling and this is certainly emphasized by the other opinions on this site classifying Cool Water as “pulling” fragrance very popular with the ladies. This was certainly not the reason why I love this fragrance but it inclusion is certainly a determining factor in its popularity and adds a bit more to this already wonderful product.

Price
-------
As mentioned in my earlier opinion on “Contradiction by CK’, I never purchase fragrances here in the U.K. , primarily due to the cost factor.
However for the sake of providing as much information as possible I have made some enquiries on the Eau De Toilette range, which I use and can advise as follows.
The 2.5 oz. (75ml) bottle goes for £33.00 for the spray version and the 4.2 oz (125ml) for £44.00 also for the spray version. r>These are only indicative prices. You could probably get them for less if you searched around, especially on the Internet.
They go for almost half the price in Las Palmas (Canary Islands) and around 25% cheaper at most European duty free shops/airlines.

Overall I have found Davidoff’s Cool Water a wonderful product that fulfills all your needs in a fragrance and is adaptable for every occasion and at any time of the day. It is extremely revitalizing and seems to ooze energy and freshness.

I won a bottle a couple of years ago and I loved it. Mind you I love anything turquoise - especially the word turquoise!

I buy this for my husband, I am considering buying myself the 'woman' version.
