Advantages: Erm......pass

Disadvantages: Lots...uneven, blotchy colour, Expensive

I am very fair-skinned and every Summer I dread going outside with white legs. (Yes, I know that I have to go outside with them to get some colour to them but as I am so fair, they just go red!)

This year, I decided that I would do what all the famous people are - apparently - doing and apply a fake tan. Piz Buin has often been mentioned and (I think) Victoria Beckham has used it, although probably at a beauty salon. It wasn't cheap, at around £9 but I thought, hey, you get what you pay for.

I decided to go for it and purchased my Piz Buin Mid Self Tan at my local Boots store last weekend. It said on the pack that it would last for seven days and would gradually fade in colour. It sounded just perfect. I did exactly what it said and exfoliated my legs thoroughly first(although if you read my last op on the exfoliator I used you will see that I had no luck with this either!) Then I carefully and evenly applied the fake tan which had a colour to it so that it was easier to see where you'd applied it.

It said that it would take 30 minutes to reach full colour so for the next half hour I walked around confidently thinking that I would have nice golden legs for once in my life instead of two bright red sticks.
Half an hour later, my legs and feet were a lovely shade of golden brown. I was thrilled. I applied some pretty nail varnish and felt that the whole process was painless and quite successful.

However........the following day, I woke up to find my legs even darker than the previous day and my feet were quite dark and blotchy. I just thought that I obviously had not exfoliated my feet properly and after all there are lots of bumps on your feet - well, there are on mine anyway!

Since that day, my legs have become increasingly mottled with the tan colour and I have something that looks like a tide mark at the side of one of my legs although I know that I was very careful in applying the lotion. It looks
very much like it has rubbed off and there are a couple of mysterious marks on my duvet cover that could be explained by this.

I am now having to wear full length trousers or jeans - I can't even wear 3/4 length trousers - until the colour goes and I'm back to my lilywhite legs again (please, please hurry up :-( )

My feet look like I have walked through a pile of dog's doo-doos and not wiped it off and I can't bear the thought of wearing socks in this heat, so I am just hoping nobody will glance at my feet. If they do, they will think I am a disgustingly dirty girl!

I have had shower after shower and scrubbed and scrubbed and all this does is get just some of the colour off leaving it even more noticeable. Needless to say, I will NEVER try this fake tan ever again. The thought of having white legs has never seemed so appealing!

Oh dear :-(
I must admit a fake tan does sound tempting, but I probably won't dare, LOL!
