Advantages: nice frangrance, easy to appy

I am quite fair skinned and burn easily. With all the skin cancer and sun damage scares, I decided to opt for a self tan product. I have tried a variety of self tan products but have found that either the results are poor or I end up smelling like a baked potato.

I recently read the "tried and tested" section in a well known women's magazine and noticed that this week they were reviewing tan towels. The winner was the most expensive product which was Estee Lauder Sunless Towelettes. x 10 for £17. The tester wrote the following remarks "The largest and easiest to use. In 2 hours I was left with a golden tan which lasted 5 days. I needed 2 but the effect was so good it was worth the money". I had only used sprays and lotions before so thought I'd give it a try.

I excitedly headed out and bought a pack for £17. I exfoliated thoroughly and dried off. The review said she needed 2 towels but I found that I needed 3 to cover my whole body. The application was easy and the product had a nice fragrance... it was looking good up to now...As instructed on the packet I waited 15 minutes for it to dry. On the packet it said that the tan will start to develop in an hour. 8 hours later I can honestly say I noticed hardly any difference to my skin tone. I then applied another 3 towels over this. 6 hours later I noticed a "very slight" colour change but I would not call it a tan. My partner said he didnt notice any difference.

As I usually do with other beauty products, I end up wasting loads of time and money trying out several different brands before finding a decent one. My search for the perfect self tan continues....
