I was given a Natural Collection Nail File for my birthday last year - they come in two colours; green with strawberries and purple with daisies.
I have used it constantly for the last 17 months and have only just had to replace it! I file my nails on average once a week, and have never had a nail file last so long ever.
It is an absolute bargain at £1.00 each and the file is a good chunky size; at 2 cm wide by 18 cm long. It is also quite thick which means that although I have carried it at the bottom of my bag, left it lying around the house and all over the place, it has never bent or broken.
It files your nails smoothly with a fairly fine grain and doesnt tear them to shreds like that nasty brown sandpaper jobs that my mum always has lying around the house! (I've bought her one for Christmas to see if I can persuade her to give up the nasty cheap files).
I would always advise bying the emery board style of nail file as it is so much better than metal. I only bought metal for a period because I was sick of running my emery boards into the ground in a short period of time - but no more!
Now I have found the everlasting emery board. Give it a try - at £1.00 you're not losing out on a nail file that will last you at least a year!
