POO! Stinky Foundation. (Other Margaret Astor)

Advantages: this one was free, and did help mattify.

Disadvantages: it stinks, and doesn't work well, and has a freaky consistency!

I tried Margaret Astor's Water Sensation compact make-up base recently having been sent a free sample through a freeby site.

Water Sensation?

Water Disappointment!

The packaging was really bland - rectangular white plastic with a clear plastic click down top.

The shade wasn't a bad match considering the lucky dip of a free sample but as soon as I went to try it...

Poo! What a gross smell. I know it is supposed to remind me of water but not damp surely! I can't believe this is the fragrance they chose. Mouldy washing!

Well, stupidly I decided to ignore the odour and try the product.

One sweep of the sponge and the whole lot subsided out of the container in a landslide of gel!

I scooped it back in and stabbed at it to break it up into smaller jelly chunks.

As I smoothed it onto my face, the chunks rolled around a bit then smudged in. I had to give my face the once over afterwards to make sure I didn't have any dubious bouncy blobs still stuck to my jawline!

And the end result? Subtle? Yes! It hardly made any difference at all. I could still see blotchy bits but at least my skin looked matt.

I wouldn't say it felt particularly moisturising either as it seemed to soak up the moisuriser I already had on - in fact I felt I could have done with putting on more.

I walked around all day wondering if anyone else thought there was a funny smell 'round here.

Do people actually pay £8.99 for this privaledge?

Would I recommend it?

No.

Would I pay for it?

No way! They should have paid me!
