Advantages: fresh breath, healthy gums
Disadvantages: none
I think an important part of the daily teeth cleaning ritual is to rinse out with mouthwash after brushing, not only does this clean your mouth out better but it freshens your breath at the same time. In our house we use Listerine Antiseptic Freshmint Mouthwash, this can be bought at all supermarkets, chemists and other beauty product stores.
We have a Savers shop in town which sells all the good brands at really low prices and I bought a 250ml bottle for 99p which is a really good saving, expect to pay over £1.70 in the supermarket and more in the chemist.
The bottles are a clear plastic which is handy for recycling if your thinking about the environment. They have a twist off lid which has to be pushed at the sides first before twisting, this makes it very childproof and that’s good in my opinion as this liquid could be mistaken for juice by a little one.
I like the products which are childproof, having a grandson who is four and a granddaughter who is one and a half makes me remember what it’s like to have little one’s around the house, you have to put everything out of reach which might harm them.
Once you have opened your lid you can use it as a cup to pour the right amount of mouthwash into, tip the mouthwash into your mouth and swish it around making sure you get it all around the mouth and in between the teeth to loosen and bits you might have missed with the tooth brush, gargle then spit it into the sink, repeat if you like but I don’t think it’s necessary. One dose will do the trick.
The liquid is a golden colour and it is quite hot in the mouth, this makes you feel like it’s working on the freshening of the breath, if you find it makes your mouth water whilst using it and that it’s a strong minty taste you can always buy the coolmint instead.
It’s made by Pfizer - Don’t try saying that whilst your washing your mouth. It is also recommended by the dentist so that makes it good enough for my family to use.
On the whole I think it’s great, if like me you’re a smoker and want to freshen your breath after a ciggie, then this will do the trick.
For going out on the town, it gives you confidence to speak to people to know that your breath is nice and fresh and it also feels good to know that your looking after your gums and teeth.
I’d recommend it to anyone.
Although it’s NOT recommended for children under 12.

angusreid - 02/06/05 Couple of things missing that stop it from being very useful (in my opinion).
You have not really covered the taste in detail and have not said how long it lasts.
