Advantages: Cheap.
Disadvantages: Disgusting taste
I don't use a mouthwash very frequently, but after a strong curry and garlic bread the other day, I thought it wise to invest in one. I perused the supermarket shelves, and was initially shocked to discover how expensive mouthwashes are. Let's face it, all you do is drink the stuff, whirl it around your mouth, do an impression of Jilly Goulden on speed, gargle the National Anthem, then spit it out down the sink. Now, please argue with me if you disagree, but at around 4 quid a bottle for some "popular" brands, I really don't think this justifies the limited entertainment value, whether they freshen your breath or not. I therefore selected the cheapest brand possible. The phrase "You get what you pay for" immediately springs to mind, at around £1.20 a bottle, you might as well buy a bottle of White Spirit. In fact, white spirit is probably a little less potent. Freshen your breath, blimey, it makes your tongue feel hotter than the Sahara Desert, and gives you a very unpleasant aftertaste, which is like a mixture of liquorice, aniseed and polo mints. Also, your tongue goes green for a while, which is just wonderful. On reflection, I should have paid a couple of quid more for a more "streetwise" brand. However, try it, you might like it. Put the change towards a curry.
