Advantages: Relatively cheap, large bottles, measuring cap.
Disadvantages: Damn strong!!
Oh my God!!!! I've tried many mouthwashes over the years and a lot of them prove to be either overpowering or ineffective. My favourite is still Dentyl PH although that proves rather expensive so I bought an alternative one - MaCleans Complete Care Mouthwash in Coolmint variety. I decided to go for it as it was on special offer in Sainsburys - buy one get one free which worked out at £1.89 for two bottles - a bargain, I thought! So here am I presented with two hefty 600ml bottles of the stuff. Attracively packaged in the usual blue colouring (why are mouthwashes so often blue?!) It comes with it's own measuring cap too which is handy to prevent dribbles and over-pouring. It's designed, as many others, to fight plaque and kill bacteria, protect your gums, strengthen your teeth, freshen your breath and help fight tooth decay - no real surprises there. It also boasts a 12 hour action. All great stuff - but you have to have a pretty strong mouth to use it in the first place. Used twice daily after brushing, fill the cap to the 15ml line and "SWOOSH!" for up to 60 seconds then spit out. Pretty standard. The problem? I found it pretty hard to keep this stuff in my mouth for the full 60 seconds as my tongue began to sting and go numb and my head was at the point of exploding! It's pretty damn strong for COOLmint!! It says to keep away from children (I always try to!) and not suitable for children under the age of six, I'm guessing this is because of the alcohol content - it seems it may be stronger than the wine I normally drink! To be fair it *feels* pretty effective but that may just be because of the taste - it contains fluoride to aid dental protection too but so do many others. Personally, although it is relatively inexpensive, I don't think I'll use this again after I have worked my way through my two large bottles as I just find it too strong to bear but if you have a st
ronger constitution than me you may find it just the ticket!

moistoist - 28/08/01 I agree on the strength issue - I'd rather pour Harpic in my mouth...
Good op as ever :-) |
