Advantages: Fast and effective pain relief, Easy to apply, Inexpensive
Disadvantages: It pongs
One day last week the right side of my neck was stiff and aching when I woke up. I could barely turn my head and felt sorry for myself when I toddled off to work. Using the tills was difficult. I reach out with my right arm to tear receipts off. The slot for swiping credit cards and the advantage point machine are both on the right. By the time my 8 hour shift ended at 11 pm the pain had spread down to my shoulder and to a lesser extent almost to my elbow. I came home and tried to forget the pain by logging on to Dooyoo. Even the act of using my mouse for rating with my right hand hurt so you can imagine that I went to bed feeling really down in the dumps. It got worse. No matter which position I laid in I had a nagging pain from my neck right down to my elbow. 3.00 am, 4.00 am came and went with me wide awake and desperate for some shuteye. Silly me I had forgotten about the Ralgex stick purchased from Boots for about £1.50 last year. I stumbled downstairs bleary eyed and searched for 10 minutes before I found the 4 X 1 inch 32g red and white tube. Back upstairs I took the cap off and jerked my head back at the horrible medical smell - ouch. I could see a creamy coloured solid stick of Ralgex and needed to push the dispenser from the bottom of the tube to get enough sticking out over the top to rub on my bare aching bits. As always I put too much on and the fiery heat over powered the nagging ache, but at least I felt as if it was working and managed to get to sleep shortly afterwards. I awoke surrounded by a horrible smell but I could turn my neck properly without pain. The ache in my shoulder was still there but nowhere near as bad as the night before. It had been so bad that I hadn't expected to be able to go to work that day but another rub with my magic stick before work and the pain lessened enough for me to be able to do my shift comfortably. I knew that the deep heat treatment was working while I was using the injur
ed muscles so the horrible smell surrounding me was a small price to pay. The pain almost disappeared after the second day but one day without Ralgex and it came back again. Since then I’ve been a smelly girl but pain free. I've used Ralgex embrocation treatments for many years whenever I’ve had muscle pain or stiffness, and although I've tried other brands find this brand works the best for me. Originally I used an aerosol but find that a lot is wasted if you only want to use it on a small area. Apart from that aerosols are bad for the ozone layer so I try not to use them much now. I've also tried the cream, but if you forget to put it on until you get into bed you don't feel like getting up again to wash your hands it can be painful as my ex husband found out when he grabbed my hand and placed it somewhere. Let’s just say that he was hopping round the bedroom shrieking something about fiery balls while I was rolling about the bed laughing. I searched the town to see if it’s still the same price but I could only see about twice the size tubes on sale in Boots for £2.59. Not a bad price for something that relieves discomfort and enables you to continue as normal. There were no stains left on my navy work clothes and the effectiveness is still there a year after buying my little relief stick, so something that you can keep in your medicine cabinet for a long time and expect to be able to use it in emergencies. Ralgex Stick can be used not only for muscular pain and stiffness but for relief from rheumatic pains, sprains, sciatica, lumbago and fibrositis. WARNINGS Test on a small clean area first just in case you experience stronger effects. Do not use on children under 12 without medical advice. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children. Do not use on sensitive body areas or broken skin. Do not apply near the eyes. Wash hands after use – w
hoops !! For external use only – see below lol ********************************************** ******* I found the next bit on the Internet and hope nobody minds me including it here. I think the story is hilarious and the inclusion is meant for fun only and not to be taken seriously. It can be found on http://www.bollixed.net/bollixed/jimmy.shtml If you are a child or easily offended do not read on. THE CURE FOR HAEMORRHOIDS (spelt correctly!!) One Sunday afternoon during the summer Jimmy had been to the pub as usual. In those days they chucked out at 14:00. His impending arrival home was announced by the dog running into the house and hiding. This was the usual routine at the weekend. After his usual noisy swearing and farting he decided to take a bath, as it was a hot and sweaty day. He fell asleep for an hour but eventually got up. After drying himself he decided to apply some ointment to his piles, for which purpose he had an extension tube to connect to the ointment tube so that he could work it right up his a**e. Unfortunately he attached the applicator to a tube of Ralgex (similar to Deep Heat) by mistake. Shortly afterwards there is a loud scream followed by much shouting and swearing. Next thing Jimmy appeared, bo**ock naked. He ran through the house and out into the garden, where he put his a**e straight in the fish pond. His wife came running after him trying to cover him with a towel as the garden was full of kids who were all laughing at the spectacle. The following day posters appeared in shop windows and in the pub advertising Ralgex as a cure for piles. Funny thing was, he reckoned it did cure them although he doesn't recommend it and would never try it again. ********************************************** ******* Ralgex stick is manufactured in the UK by Setton Healthcare Group PLC For more information you can ring 0161 652 2222
