Advantages: Smells nice, A bit different, Lots of other products in the range
Disadvantages: Won't suit everyone
Choosing a perfume sounds a relatively easy thing – but it isn’t. Finding a scent you like is a very personal choice. One fragrance might smell great on a tester page or your friend’s wrist, but just doesn’t seem the same on you. Plus do you really want to shell out a tenner or more on a perfume you might not like? So some advantages about the Avon range are : * they have a wide range of perfumes available - so there should be something to suit everyone's taste * they aren't too expensive - usually no more than £10 * you can buy plenty of cheaper versions of the scent in different products to check you really do like it. This potentially saves you lots of money. I have tried several perfumes from Avon before – Perceive, Little Black Dress, Rare Emeralds, Dolce Aura and others – but the only one I have really liked is Women of Earth – until now. I fancied a change last month, so when I saw the Timeless body spray was on offer for only £1.50, I thought it was worth a try. The Timeless range consists of seven products, which I will describe below… ***Eau de Toilette Spray – 50ml for £8*** This comes in a clear glass bottle, which is hexagonal with a gold top in the same shape. The perfume looks a bronze colour inside. It is quite classy looking, but I have seen better. ***Perfumed Talc – 75g for £2.25*** This is a peachy-orange colour packaging with the Timeless logo – the same basic idea as for the shimmer gel, body spray, skin softener and shower gel. Personally, I think £2.25 is a bit much for what is really only talc! ***Pearl Rollette – 9ml for £3*** This looks a classy little product and would fit nicely into a handbag or pocket for going out. It is a pearl white cylinder with a gold top and looks expensive. This one would make a nice present for a woman who likes this fragrance. ***Shimme
r Gel – 150ml for £3.50*** This is quite an unusual product and is used to give a slight shine to your body. It is a clear packaging with light orange gel inside. This is another product that would make a nice gift and looks like a luxury you can pamper yourself with. ***Skin Softener – 150ml for £3*** This one is a round tub rather like the ones of face cream my grandmothers used to have! This looks rather old-fashioned and I’m not sure I would particularly want this one. I’m quite happy with my Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising Crème anyway! ***Moisturising Bath and Shower Gel – 200ml for £3*** This is the largest product being in a peach coloured container with a flip top seal. I think £3 is quite expensive for what is essentially shower gel and personally, I like light, fruity shower gel to wake me up, but I guess a perfumed one would be nice for a special night out or a sensual night in. ***Perfumed Body Spray – 75ml for £3 (unless on offer!)*** This looks similar to the Yassou body sprays I love, but it looks a bit classier. This is really a spray to put on your wrists and neck like perfume though; it’s far too good to waste on sweaty armpits! The Timeless fragrance is described in the Avon brochure as a ‘green/woody musk’ and I can see what they mean, as it does smell like that. It is quite subtle but if you do take a good sniff (all in the name of research), it smells rather like pine trees – but don’t worry, it’s nothing like those overpowering trees you get to hang in cars, which usually give me a headache! It is quite sweet with a spicy kick to it. It’s not too feminine but then again, I can’t see any blokes wanting to cart around a peach coloured spray! It smells a bit oriental too, which is strange as it makes me picture Japanese women in kimonos walking through an English forest! (Just lie down on this couch
and talk…) Overall, it is a nice fragrance and I am very pleased with the perfumed body spray (especially at half price!) and would like to try some of the other products in this range. Whether I would pay £8 for a bottle of the perfume is still under discussion.
