Advantages: Very effective, suitable for all skin types
Disadvantages: May work out expensive
Well, well, the wonder of Tesco and what they can unwittingly introduce you to when substituting goods on online shopping! I had ordered some Johnsons PH5.5 3 in 1 cleansing wipes as I had used them before and tend to stick with what I know with such products. They were out of stock and sent me these instead - "Simple" One Step Facial Cleansing Wipes. Much the same sort of product but about £1 cheaper. To be fair the price isn't really an issue as I don't actually use these much (tut, tut!) but wanted them for convenience when going on a camping trip last year (Reading Festival to be exact). For an average price of around £3.99 - £4.49 you get a waterproof plastic sachet containing 25 large wipes. They keep well in the pack as it is re-sealable and they can be dispensed one at a time. Being a "Simple" product they are suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin as they do not contain any perfum or colour additives. They are also alcohol free so will not dry out the skin either and contain added moisturisers. I can vouch for them being very kind to the skin as my skin is dry and reacts quite easily to some products but I am fine with these. Each facial wipe is a good size and very soft and will clean off all traces of make-up as well as general dirt and grime. Although, to be fair, if you like your black eyeliner and mascara as I do, it can take a bit of time and a bit of work to shift all of your eye make-up succesfully! There is no need to rinse your face afterwards although I like to for freshness. They also make good general freshen-up wipes on hot, sticky days although there are an expensive substitute for those. They come in the trademark "Simple" green and white packaging - nice looking but with no frills - and the sachet size is very handy for handbags and travelling. So, this time, Tesco get a thumbs-up for one of their substitution items!
