Advantages: Nice taste, good price, does the job.
Disadvantages: Messy tube, bit too liquidy
Toothpaste - not a very exciting subject to write about but here's my lowdown on Boots Totalcare toothpaste. I always feel a bit of a fraud writing about dental matters given that over the last few years I have suffered severe dental infections which have resulted in about 8 extractions. As they say - "do as I say, not as I do". So let's get on to the product in particular - Boots Advanced Totalcare toothpaste. I am a store brand junkie - I will buy store brands of anything from toiletries to cosmetics to medicines to food and drink - usually the product is much the same but without the fancy packaging and the fancy price. As per usual I went for what was on offer. Although a little while ago now this was on offer for buy one get one free at a price of approximately £1.60 for two 100ml tubes of toothpaste. How could I resist? The packaging is basic and functional - blue, silver and white in a normal squeezy tube - none of this fancy pump stuff. It does tend to get very messy around the flip top cap as this toothpaste squeezes out very easily and it is easy to dispense too much. I chose the 'coolmint stripe' variety so it is not mind-blowingly strong - a gentle mint flavour contained in a stripey blue and white paste. It boasts 'plaqueguard' and will fight decay and plaque as well as protecting gums and freshening the breath. It also contains fluoride and is anti-bacterial to guard against decay and gum diseases. It also claims to have a 24 hour action though I am always dubious about that considering what passes into most peoples' mouths within 24 hours! As ever with most toothpastes the list of ingredients is long and bewildering mostly consisting of a large list of chemical names and I will not even attempt to list them all other to say that the main ingredients featured are water, fluoride and sorbitol (sweetener). As long as you are a careful and sparing tube squeeze
r this should last quite well as a small blob foams well and does the job. A suitable dental aid for all the family.
