One of the benefits of my recent retirement was immediate. No longer constrained by the disclipline of work (albeit part-time), my daily activities are performed at my own pace and in my own time. With the possible exception that my 2 dogs don't know about this retirement lark. As far as they are concerned 6.30am is the time they want "out" in the garden, to be followed by their breakfasts. I am trying to re-train them on this one. My horse, stabled on a farm very close to home, has his breakfast left out every night as do the other horses, and whoever visits first feeds them all. That takes care of the previous morning rush. So I am able to stroll ... Read the complete review

I am a chronic insomniac but I hate taking any kind of sleeping drug. The problem with synthetic drugs is that much of the time up to half the drug stays in your system for longer than necessary and can build up and do a lot of internal damage. I found the natural product they use to make many of the sleeping drugs was valarian root (they also use part of the root as a starting chemical for valium, but that's another story...), and it's natural and harmless. And, it really works. Don't bother with those natural sleeping pills with trade names they sell...it's just low doses of valarian root with some inert garbage thrown in. Get the full strength stuff ... Read the complete review

I was quite disappointed when I recently tried Valerian root (Valerina ). I know it works well for other people but it didn't help me at all. It's supposed to relax you so that you can fall into a calm and peaceful sleep without the after effects of chemical sleeping pills. This herbal remedy actually made me feel very nauseous, gave me a headache and made me sweat. It was like the effects of being poisoned. I did read the instructions carefully and abide by them but apparently this herb just doesn't suit me. The idea behind it is that you don't get that horrible 'hangover' effect that goes with artificial sleeping pills and your ... Read the complete review

Valerina I have had trouble sleeping just lately due to one thing or another and I don’t really like taking sleeping tablets. A friend suggested that I try a herbal remedy and so I bought some Valerina. On the box it stated that it relieved tension and helped promote a natural sleep. No chemicals to give you that hungover effect in the morning. Well I thought I would give it a try, but after an hour or so I was wide-awake and I didn’t feel very restful at all. It made me feel quite sick and left me with quite a bad headache. Obviously something in it just didn’t agree with me, because to be fair when I mentioned it to ... Read the complete review

Vallerina is a herbal replacement for good old fashioned vallium to get you off to sleep. Vallerina comes in small tablets that personally smell and taste revolting - it even leaves an after taste in your mouth. I have not slept well for the past 12 months, and have been waking periodically every 2-3 hour. I take 4 tablets a night, at about 11 pm, and go srtaight to bed. Since I have taken them I have slept straight the way through the night until 8am. I waver smell and taste of the tablets inview of my nights sleep. The whole box costs about £6.00, and can be bought from good Natural Herbal Outlets. I have also not experienced any side effects to the tablets ... Read the complete review
