My Son in Law bought a Fiat Stilo from these Carcraft(West Thurrock) people less than 2 years ago and are still paying for it now. Just over a week ago the car just wouldn't start,so he called out the AA who thought it might be the main PCU but didn't know for sure. I have recently been looking at buying a new car. I really fancy the Ford Fiesta ST, in black. After searching and searching the internet I found one in Carcraft, Newport. Carcraft was established in 1951 and is an independent used car hypermarket. They have many stores across the country. I went to the Newport branch in South Wales. ...  Read the complete review

we Have recently bought our fourth car from Car Craft, this time we opted to go direct to Sheffield instead of having the car shipped to Westmidlands for us to look at..this is where the trouble started. Upon first inspection of the car all seemed ok, then from the day we left the showroom we have had the following problems. Timing belt ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Carcraft of Sheffield
by - written on 17/01/08
Rating:

In short, I had two cars from Carcraft in Thurrock. The first literally fell apart on the motorway, i was told I could not have a refund and needed to exchange, however was told I had £1000 less to spend, due a load of paperwork. So in desperation I exchanged it for the second car, the day after I got it I called to inform them of grinding noise when I turned it on. Weeks later after being ignored, it exploded. It took me two months for them to agree to cancel the contract, but then they had the cheek to say I owed them £1300 for the car I originally exchanged as they over valued it. I'm still waiting for my money back nearly 9 months later. NEVER BUY FROM CARCRAFT

I really have to defend carcraft as they are coming in for a bit of stick here. I went down to the Rochdale site around 2 months ago while shopping around for my new car. I have to admit that you do get acosted as soon as you walk through the door but that is the name of the game in car sales but hey! get over it. Lots and lots of ...  Read the complete review

I purchased a 2001 Volkswagon Golf Avantguard Cabriolet for £11500 from Carcraft last week. Firstly we went through to Sheffield on the 28/6 to look at a Renault Megane Cabriolet that we were told they had for sale. We got there and were told it had been sold the day before. (not a good start) We then saw the golf and decided to go for a test ...  Read the complete review

Don't even bother with Carcraft. We bought a car from there and were conned for a total of £6,000 for a car that we later found out was valued at only £3,000. The car was originally at up at £8,500 and we were given a so called "managers discretion" discount, yet still ended up paying twice the amount the car is valued at. We test ...  Read the complete review

Without going into the full story I hope I can give some really useful advice if you are considering buying a car from Carcraft advertised as nice and easy! Do not take children as there are no decent play areas and this will add to the pressure of buying a car to hastily... The cars are overpriced... I know I paid ...  Read the complete review

My old crate is falling apart. It's tax runs out tomorrow and its MOT is next month. I also need to think about getting a more economical motor.
