Now then, over the years I have tried various glass cleaning products with varying degerees of success. Windolene, water with various additives including Methylated Spirit (interesting due to it's flammable nature! Don't smoke!) and washing up liquid. I have found though that most products always leave some sort of residue behind leaving a streaky effect. This is just the thing you want to avoid and is probably why you wanted to clean the windows in the first place. A couple of years ago I decided to give the Auto Glym Car Glass polish a try. Let me say now this product is simply the best. Apply the product with a clean cloth, I find a J Cloth is ideal, leave it to dry and a blue powdery residue is left behind. Wipe this off with a second clean cloth (either another J Cloth or perhaps some unused polishing stockinette) and voila! superb visibility and absolutely no streaks. It can also be used on the interior mirror and the rubber screen surrounds. My wife has also used it on household mirrors with the same brilliant results. It may seem expensive at around £4.99 per bottle but it is well worth it and one bottle will last quite a long time. One other thing I would like to pass on is after waxing your car, any wax residue around trim pieces/badges etc. are easily removed when dry with a new clean pure bristle paintbrush. I keep one just for this purpose and it makes the job quick and simple.
