I have had some bad experiences when I have taken my car- a peugeot 206 into garages to be fixed/ serviced in the past.Being ripped off has be my speciality! Though not any more!!!
I had been taking my car to the main dealers, because I didnt want to break the warranty!The last time I took it, it was for a service, a run of the mill oil service. Three days later and £200 broker, my car was ready! I thought this couldnt be right, but they know best, it is there job after all, and I was used to paying quite a lot for anything on my car when I had been to see them previously.
Well now my warranty was up, would I continue going to this main dealer or do I try my luck with another garage, who deals with all cars.
I had heard some stories about terrible cowboy garages, so being a little weary I looked around, asked a lot of people.
What I found, was a garage in North London. A modest family owned business. Very helpfull, very friendly- especially as they didnt treat me like an idiot because I was a girl. I had my car finished by the next day, fab! Everything was explained to me, about why the problem had occured, I felt that I could actually ask a question no matter how inexperienced it sounded!They told me how they could fix it, but gave me a choice of what I could do. I got the idea that they didnt actually want to rip me off, that they understood that people are not made of money, therefore customers like myself dont want to throw their money away.

I told the mechanic there about my experinces with the main dealer and he couldnt help himself but laugh! Laughing about how devious the main dealers are plus a lot of other garages!
He said that the last service I had, the oil service should have cost at maximum £60-70! Not £200!
I felt so stupid.

Well my car runs like a dream. I have sent so many people to them and have only heard praises about the garage.
