Disadvantages: A bit same old Same old

When someone says 70's films to you, you automatically think of Car chases and cardboard boxes being crashed into and trash cans going flying. That was basically it in the 70's. You went to a film producer in Hollywood and said "look I got this great Idea for a film. Its a Cop film where the cop is chasing drug dealers /murderers/ muggers/ robbers (delete as appropriate). Then we have this good cop who takes them all on. He has to chase them through streets and back alleys in a '72 beat up chevy and then end up at some disused mine/dock/ warehouse/ oil refinery (delete as appropriate) Automatic hit movie!"
This must be true because every memorable hit film from the 70's Bullit/Magnum force/Dirty Harry/ happened the same way. Oh Star wars was the exception but they did not have Cardboard or Chevy's on Tattooine Or you would have seen the empire chasing Luke and Han in one.
My Top 10 70's Films would be:
1) Star wars
2) Saturday Night Fever
3) Jaws
4) Bullitt
5) French Connection
6) Godfather
7) Halloween
8) Dirty Harry
9) Magnum Force
10)Taxi Driver

Not the greatest of decades for cinephiles. I like 4 or 5 of yours though.. Godfather, Connection, Harry and of course... are you talking to me? Cheers.
