... best places to sit are, which are strangely enough right in the center of the center if you can get there. The reason for this is because the screen is so big you cannot see the edges of it if your sat right in the middle. The show started and it's basically an exploration around cartoons only in 3D which makes you feel like your actually flying around them. It is based like your on a spaceship going into little parts of cartoons and even has a clip from the simpsons when Homer goes 3D which is cool. The film...more

For all of you people who haven't heard of IMAX cinemas i'll tell you a bit about the one I know. I am in Manchester so when I heard they were opening the Filmworks complex, inside the new Printworks I thought cool another huge multiplex cinema, but it's so much more. I hadn't heard of an IMAX cinema but when I went to check out this new multiplex I noticed they had signs up everywhere telling you about it and describing what they had on. So when I got a few mates together we took a trip up to it and went to see CYBERWORLD. The thing about IMAX cinemas is you get shown in and handed 3D glasses if it's a 3D film your seeing and told where the ...  Read the complete review

I've only seen one film at the i-max cinema and after watching it I would definately go again. It is great and the 3D effect is amazing. This one of many films and if the others are anything like this one then it's sure worth the money to go and see it. Cyberworld is a huge world with loads of doors opeening into other, strange new worlds. You have this guide, she takes you around the worlds. There are loads of them including an Antx one, a Simpsons one and one with flying ships with what looked to be like flying hipos. As she takes you round you experiance many different things. But whilst touring CyberWorld bugs start eating away at the computors, this ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A great Experiance (397 words)

Twenty years ago no one had ever heard of 3D films, but now it’s a whole new way of watching movies. Imax cinemas are dotted all over the country and the two I went to were at Bristol and London. It is a great experience and although the films aren’t that long and it is expensive, it is definitely worthwhile going to see one. Cyber world is one of the many available to watch. A computerised girl takes you on a guided tour around a huge world full of different and extraordinary things. As she takes you around you visit loads of different dimensions including parts of the film Antz and 3D Simpsons. It all sounds a bit boring but then small computer bugs ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cyberworld: What a shock.... (342 words)

I got there to the cinema to find that even though this was advertised as being a 3D film with the Simpsons and Antz it really is a collection of short computer animations, ported to 3D. For those of you that dont know much about the IMAX it is basically a HUGE screen about the size of a tennis court so that almost all of your field of vision is encapulated by the screen. The 3D effect works by using Cross-polaried glasses, with horizontally polaried light comming through the right lens and vertically polaried light through the left lens. Your eyes therfore each see a different image and your brain interpretates this as 3D. The best thing about this ...  Read the complete review
