Advantages: Amazing 3D effects, huge screen, quality film

Disadvantages: very expensive confectionery

Living in London for years and working just around the corner, it took until I moved away for me to finally get around to visiting IMAX and I only wish I hadn't waited so long. I took my 4 year old son, without making any enquiries as to when films started but luckily we arrived just in time for the underwater display. I didn't even realise it was in 3D until we were handed these glasses but there was no disputing it once the film started. Immediately you are transported under the sea with kelp floating all around you as you feel as if you're going to crash into the coral and fish swim straight at you. Looking around the cinema it was amusing to see so many people putting their hands out in front
involuntarily to push things away!
Not only was the cinematography and special effects amazing, not to mention the enormous screen but it was one of those films where you learnt so much you couldn't help coming out saying "did you know...?"
My son was transfixed although I think the realism got to him after a while so he removed the specs. He especially loved the purple sea urchins as they feature strongly in his current favourite computer game.
And one other plus point - it's free for kids up to 5 and anyone else can pick up a discount voucher at their local railway station.
One minus point - I paid £1.25 for 6 sweets in pick & mix
