... magazine - but if you are interested in fashion itself i-D has nothing that would lure you away from similarly priced glossies (eg Vogue, also £3.10). The articles are what really bug me, they are sometimes painful to read. Their writers are terrified of humour (Heaven forfend they should be somehow seen as 'silly') so they write what is on the safe side of cool, but is exceptionally dull for its audience. The problem with i-D is that it doesn't know what it's trying to be. Ironic really, given the name - or maybe it's a double bluff - agh this all got complicated suddenly... It comes across as part photo album, part verbal vomit - basically, a bit pretentious for most. My theory is that it wants to be a fash mag. The photography, to be fair, is always fresh-looking; I would go as far as to say it is unmatched by any other magazine. If you were studying for any 'visual' degree (or other course) I can see why you might buy the magazine - but if you are interested in fashion itself i-D has nothing that would lure you away from similarly priced ... I really like the amount of pictures i see in I-D. and the quality is really good. I tend to not read this magazine some much as I don't always find their stuff as interesting compared to other comparable mags. But the photography is good, really good. There seem to be a lot of thought in the images they use, taking by top notch photographers of course. If your into fashion photography I think you would enjoy this magazine a lot. it's well worth it's price, even though it's a bit like a monthly picture album. I buy it, and so should you. ...
