simoncardwell Bob Dylan in general
... do you start with Dylan? He s had various spells of greatness, a few fallow periods in between & that rarest of creatures, someone who lost it & then got it back. His first album came out in 1962 & featured more than a nod to his then-idol Woody Guthrie, there were hints of talent there, but precious little that hinted at the huge creative leap he would take the following year. 1963 s The Freewheelin Bob Dylan marked Dylan s ascension to greatness & still remains among his creative peaks. Putley Jive Bunny and The Mastermixers in General
... the time, it was "so-bad-it s-good" material back in 1989! In the late-80 s the charts were stewed with increasingly simple, commercialised tunes. A majority of these tunes belonged to the "Stock Aitken & Waterman" record factory, or "Hit Factory", which featured many different rising or one-wonder music stars, singing along to somewhat similar tunes. Asdf1 Tori Amos in general
... Amos has now lost a bit bit but back inher early days she was amazing. Proof of this is form the 1991. 1992 Montreux Jazz festival performances (these have been released on CD). Her singing is amazing and her piano playing is also amazing she is just so talented! It s a real pity her music has became much balnder, but even this doesn t detract from songs like Conrflake Girl or Precious Things. Even her covers are brilliant. If you re going to cover a song you mayas well make it your own right? What would be the point of slavishly copying a song? This seems to be the way she thinks and I couldn t agree more. Proof of this is especially evident with Nirvana s Smells l...
