Slowdive in general:
... songs might not always make literal sense, but you do get an impression of what you 'should' be feeling, and for this reason I find shoegazing music quite therapeutic. It is introspective stuff in effect- adept at exploring all the feelings that make us human and alive.
Ok, Im gonna quit with the philosophical hard-sell here and just recommend to you a few of my most loved tracks from their albums:

Cocteau Twins in general ... Elizabeth Frazers incredible voice. It is indescribable, which makes this review slightly on the tough side for me! Also, dont go listening to their music thinking you will be able to decipher the lyrics, because invariably you wont. They are notoriously obscure and garbled. There is in fact a website where fans have tried to interpret their lyrics from the recordings. What you will experience from listening to the Cocteau Twins is an amazing sense of what the song is about from the almost gutteral sound of Frazer's voice. Madonna in general ... live on her Drowned World Tour I grew to see the greatness in this album. One of the best allbums in my Madonna collection is 'Music'. As well as the title track, 'Don't Tell Me' is one of my favourite tracks. I love the guitar at the start and how the song jerks about making it a perfect accompaniment to the line dancing of the video. I really like 'American Life'. Again Madonna is heading in a different direction musically and with her image too. Again she was met with critiscism regarding her Army imagery. Joan Baez in general ... her to Bob Dylan, with whom she shared many campaigns, and also a bit of personal live. Although most of her songs are labelled as folk songs, she played gospel, rock and pop songs as well. Not only she played and sang her own song, but also songs of other singers, and here the list is long, but surely we should remember the names of Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and the Rolling Stones. Her voice is beautiful and she can sing n many languages. She has been campaigning anti war, for the rights of gays and lesbian, against poverty and the death penalty.
