Newest Review: ... my teenage years from when I first heard 'I ain't mad atcha' through to letting him go at Elton Johns remake of 'Ghetto ... more

... Gospel'. My most used and abused album being his Greatest Hits, I was a devoted follower attempting to accumulate a collection of his albums and still find myself re-reading his wonderful poetry collection 'The Rose That Grew From Concrete' which I can still quote the poem that shares that title word for word today. His poetry has a lot of influence over my writing. The book itself features the scanned copy of the actual poem and the 'translation' on the opposite page due to him using images i.e. never writing 'I'...more

Crowned Review 2Pac in general: The Second Coming (866 words)
by - written on 08/10/00
Rating:

Well some people would say so, I have written reviews on the limited ability of such rappers as Dr Dre and Eminem, some of which have not been agreed with, so I thought I would write this to show you all who in my mind is the best rapper to ever grace the earth. June 16th 1971 - Tupac Amaru Shakur is born to Afeni Shakur and Billy Garland in NYC. 1971 to 1985 - Lived in NYC - Bronx and Harlem September 1983 - Afeni enrolled Tupac in The 127th Street Ensemble - a theater group, he performed in his 1st production at The Apollo Theater in Raisin in the Sun. 1985 - Afeni moved her family to Baltimore, Maryland. Tupac went to Rolling ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A Beautiful, Fragmented Soul (762 words)
by - written on 27/05/09 (Very useful, 25 readings)
Rating:

It is funny to reflect on our childhood influences; especially those that don't gel with the person you become today or defy the ability for others to predict that association with you; and so as such is my devotion to 2pac. Tupac Amaru Shakur was murdered in 1996, in fact the last review within this category was written in 2002, one evidently believing that it is time to let this remarkable man rest in peace and by writing this review, I'm not attempting to stir him from that eternal slumber because as much as it pains me and as much as I would love to subscribe to the many 'theories' which indicate that he just slipped out of the limelight with a 'staged' ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 2Pac in general: The legend that is Tupac Shakur (1267 words)
by - written on 09/07/02 (Very useful, 2575 readings)
Rating:

Tupac Amaru Shakur, or Lesane Parish Crooks as some of his bigger fans may know him, was born to Afeni Shakur on the 16th June 1971 in Brooklyn. His mother changed his name to Tupac Amaru, meaning 'shining serpent', after an Inca Indian revolutionary. Shakur simply means 'thankful to God'. To his friends and family he was more commonly known as the 'Black Prince' throughout his childhood. At the age of two, Tupac ceased being an only child when his mother gave birth to a baby girl, Sekyiwa. Mutulu, Sekyiwa's father and a Black Panther, was sentenced to sixty years imprisonment for his part in a fatal armed robbery just a few months before she ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tupac ... enough's enough. (616 words)
by - written on 04/09/01 (Very useful, 103 readings)
Rating:

Tupac Amaru Shakur was a favourite artist of mine when he was alive and for sometime after his death. But of late I'm starting to think that the buying public is being conned?. And I'm not alone in this sentiment, its one being echoed by many others out there. Tupac Shakur was a leading light of the West Coast Hip-Hop/Rap fraternity. At the height of his success, he alone was outselling the entire Bad Boy label - which included his archival Biggie Smalls. Much has been made since his death that this rivalry was to ultimately end Tupac's life, and some feel in retribution the life of Biggie Smalls. Whether that's the case or not, both artists ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 2Pac in general: He's alive, here is all the evidence (1728 words)
by - written on 08/07/01 (Very useful, 4502 readings)
Rating:

Like many I believe he is still alive, some people many disagree but there is too much suspicious information that proves that Tupac Amura Shakur is in fact alive. I'm not entirely sure why he would fake his own death but the reasons may be: 1. To sell more records (people buy dead mans records more) 2. After the first gun shooting he realised people wanted to kill him. 3. He really did get shot but had his bullet proof vest on but it was claimed he didn't and when in hospital he decided then to make everyone believe he was dead. Obviously there are other possibilities and there is the chance he really is dead but if he really is ...  Read the complete review
