3 colours red, were such an excellent band in their time and their music still rocks in. I was very disappointed when they split up, because they were going far and there music was superb. But not to fear, Chris McCormack of 3 colours red is now in a band called Grand theft audio and they are very good indeed. So all you fans out there don't worry the spirit of 3 Colours Red will stay with you forever. So you should check out Grand theft audio and be amazed. They had only two albums which were 'Revolt' and 'Pure', Revolt is the newest with some very good songs on it such as 'Beautiful day', 'paranoid people, and 'intermission' teh are my favorite songs.
I wish I'd seen them play live at Reading. Or anywhere for that matter. Introduced to the band by their no.11 hit 'Beutiful Day' I was hooked on the sweeping violins, bitter lyrics, and gentle guitar work. Then I realised that they mostly made punk/rock tunes. They actually educated me in a whole new and exciting genre of music. They were the best teachers I'd ever had. Fast, exciting and well written, their songs were short but solid. I heard them play live on Radio 1 twice. Their energy and ability to whip the crowd up into a frenzy astounded me. The working partnership of Pete Vuckovic and Chris McCormack produced stunningly deep and interesting songs with an edge so near pop it is hard to believe. Beauty and masculinity combined to perfection. Whisper it softly 'They were a great band', and theyll be sorely missed.
3 Colours Red, undeniably one of the best british rock bands for ages. They had both intelligent meaniful lyrics, a beautiful voice in the form of pete vuckovic, brilliant guitars from Chris McCormack, this band were destined for huge things...had it not been this diverse mix of talent that pull them each different ways. no longer did Pete want to do hard edge songs, he wanted to go more the way 'fit boy, faint girl' and 'beautiful day' went, whereas Chris wanted to get heavier, like 'Half way up the downs' and 'Pure' Still, over there relatively short career, they brought out two amazing albums, which will be listened to for years to come, and which many bands will quietly take influence from.
They are a really good band that play some really good music. Their albums contain alot of cutting edge material that has creatively put together with alot of imagianation and flair. I really enjoy listening to their albums and find their music puts me in a great frame of mind and gives me a buzz as only music can. This music has to played at full volume to really appreciate the driving bass and rhythmic guitar. i would recommend this band totally and it really goes to show what can be done with musical instrument.
Sometimes I wish 3 colours red's last album "revolt" would be more like the Golden "Pure" album. the record is filled with tracks such as "Sixty Mile Smile" and "Nuclear Holiday" make me and my freinds want to listen for hours on end. I adore the first album it just made a mark on the U.K after The Wildhearts split. To be honest I haven't heard "Revolt" but I will listen with an open mind yet NOTHING WILL BEAT "PURE"! Sadly the band have split, Chris Mc Cormick the guitarist is now in Grand Theft Auto (formally the infidels) who are recording a sex pistols style rock. Horray for Chris!
