Advantages: lyrically and musically wonderful

Disadvantages: occassional dodgy vocal bit live (twice)

I wish I'd seen them play live at Reading. Or anywhere for that matter.
Introduced to the band by their no.11 hit 'Beutiful Day' I was hooked on the sweeping violins, bitter lyrics, and gentle guitar work. Then I realised that they mostly made punk/rock tunes. They actually educated me in a whole new and exciting genre of music. They were the best teachers I'd ever had.
Fast, exciting and well written, their songs were short but solid. I heard them play live on Radio 1 twice. Their energy and ability to whip the crowd up into a frenzy astounded me.
The working partnership of Pete Vuckovic and Chris McCormack produced stunningly deep and interesting songs with an edge so near pop it is hard to believe. Beauty and masculinity combined to perfection.
Whisper it softly 'They were a great band', and theyll be sorely missed.
