Firstly i just wanna state that I know that this is not quite the right category but i have suggested it and will request it to be moved later. Well this is A1's third album to date and was released on the 27th may 2002 but we have seen a lot of drastic changes in their style with this album. i do not want to give away too much about that just now but as you read on you will get the gist of it I think. They were more of a teenagers boyband but now we see them try to adopt a lot more of an adult style of singing. has this worked at all I hear you cry well read on and I will tell you what I think of it........... In a world where boy bands are two-a-penny its literally a case of "survival of the fittest". Hoping to take the crown from Westlife and Backstreet Boys are the Brits A1 with their second album "The A List". With pop being such a fickle market, if you make it past the first album without getting dropped then you're well on the way to success. As well as some damn fine pop singles ("Ready or Not", "Summertime Of Our Lives", "Like A Rose" etc.) the success has to lie partly in group member Ben. Although not to everybody's taste (I.e. I bought The A List, A1's second album, for my seven year old daughter for Christmas. She had wanted their album or Billie Piper's and I prefer Billie, so had looked for that, but they had sold out in Asda, so A1 it was. I wasn't expecting much to be honest, I thought they were just another boy band - four lads (Paul, Ben, Mark & Christian) all pretty good looking and able to dance - but anything more ? I didn't think so. I didn't mind their version of Take On Me, but I'm old enough to remember (and prefer) the A-Ha version. The video was very good though. Then I heard their second single from this album - Same Old ...
