Nearly 9 years since a review...time for a little update I think. AC/DC are by far Australia's greatest ever rock band, and in my opinion the best thing ever to come out of Australia! They were formed in Syndey by the now infamous brothers Angus and Malcom Young, over 35 years ago way back in 1973. There are two main eras to ACDC's history. The first era lasted from 1974 until 1980 and comprised of lead singer Bon Scott, with Angus and Malcom Young, on lead and rhythm guitar respectively, with Phil Rudd filling the drums slot. Initially Mark Evans was the bassist, until his departure in 1977 when he was replaced by Cliff Williams. This lineup ... Read the complete review

Half the fun of AC/DC is watching a small little man, dressed as a school boy complete with satchel, wearing a devil hat running up and down the stage, spinning round in circles on the stage then spring up and amazingly continue. How he doesn't manage to tangle up his leads, pull out the wire or knock it out of tune I don't know but many would say it is the experience. Angus, now 52 is still touring with the band and seems as crazy as ever. The tunes are mostly the same, the same people playinga except they are all a bit older, yet they still play to the same quality! The problem though, is that half the fun is watching it. Video's are great to ... Read the complete review

I was lucky enough to get tickets to see AC/DC last night at Hampden Park, Glasgow. They are one of my favourite bands, and I have never seen them live, and to be honest I thought I never would! They have not toured for years, but shortly after the release of their new album 'Black Ice' last year, it was announced that they would be embarking on a worldwide tour. And so, the mad rush for tickets began! I sat at my laptop on the morning they went on sale, fingers constantly refreshing the page until 10am when ticket sales opened, and to my relief ( and amazement) got straight in and bought two tickets for myself and my partner. I realised later, just ... Read the complete review

Okay, I'm living proof that brainwashing does work! I do now have to admit a sneaky liking for AC/DC. I should have known that I had no chance when I married a guy that told me that he wanted 'It Ain't No Fun Waiting Around To Be A Millionaire' played at his funeral! I have to admire his efforts, for years I maintained that I hated AC/DC then one night while slightly tipsy (!) at a party caught myself dancing to 'Whole Lotta Rosie' From then on it's been downhill. It recently took me 3 months to notice that he'd cleaned out the car only leaving AC/DC tapes in it. It doesn't help that there are closet fans everywhere, they spring ... Read the complete review

A friend of mine is an avid follower of ACDC. I for one cannot see their appeal. Standard scream rock stuff, made by men who are quite obviously far too old to be showing their legs, let alone running about in school uniform. The single Hard As A Rock sums them up for me – the moment in the video when the short-clad guitarist steps out of a broken wrecking ball strumming violently setting the tone perfectly – a samey, distortion led screaming RAWK band with no tongue in their cheek, and thus no real interesting or redeeming features. ...
