ive just read a review by someone who compared alanis to celine dion. yes, celine dion is big pants, but alanis morisette CAN sing and she HAS talent.
this album is pretty damn cool. i bought it because i liked the singles, but some of the album tracks are even better. i think you have to like her singles, because it can be a bit samey in places. saying that, she kicks alot more ass than more recent female artists..kelis is simular i guess but even 'caught out there' with its shouty i-hate-life vocals doesn't come close to alanis morisette's sound. its a good classic soft rock album to have lying around for when you feel a bit p*ssed off about the world.
there were no surprises in this album, which was a bit dissapointing. i expected something more varied, but i suppose shes stuck to what she knows..angry lyrics and even angrier singing. if you like nirvana, skunk anansie or just girls who have something more to say than 'spice up your life' than get this.
