Amen are a great band, lets get that sorted first. They are a "punk" band with an extreme dislike for the American government and religion; note the irony of their name!!!! Ingenious. Classing Amen as punk is evidently as they have obviously been influenced by the likes of the sex pistols and the Ramones (real punk), but in this day and age where all of a sudden punk has become so wank with the likes of Blink 182, Sum41 and New Found Glory to name but a few, sorry jew, ripping into the charts and having the cheek to be given the title of punk, is a disgrace to their supposed for fathers. Normally I have to understand an album to really love it, but this is a true exception. I haven't bothered to learn the names of the songs, or the words - but that's something you do when you get bored isn't it? I just love the whole feeling of this album. It's my brother's album and I decided to listen to it. I wasn't really expecting anything special, but when I listened to it, I was totally blown away! I thought that Amen would be a death metal, depressing fake aggressive band, not a dramatic hardcore punk band. I remember when I first got to see Amen live, there was a 20 ft speaker system on the stage booming out the chords provided by the band. The lead singer, Casey Chaos throws down his microphone like a kid throwing a temper tantrum and climbs the speaker system. My first reaction was "He'll be crazy to jump off"...well, Casey Chaos is crazy folks...damn crazy. He jumps off and takes a bad landing, but he gets up again and jumps on the drums and then runs on the stage like a lunatic and takes a splat right on the audience. For about a half an hour my neck really began to hurt trying to follow Casey Chaos. That performance by the band Amen is forever ...
