Andy Weatherall, a legend? I would have to agree as this guy has been around for such a long time (around 15 years) and is still at the forefront of his genre. He has avoided commercialism nlike Pete Tong and has still survived. His music policy genereally consists of all this techno and electro (including the odd bit of 80's stuff). I met Andrew wetherall in Newcastle about two years ago at a club night i was promoting. The first thing that i noticed was his very hairy face. The second thing i noticed was his excellent set. Having holed himself in a farm house outside Leeds i had heard that he was a little bit off the wall and his DJ set was along the same lines. Wetherall started off nice and slow, very eclectic and very techno, mirroring his new 'two lone swordsman' collaboration with Keith Tenniswood. This was to progress into a heavy, pulsating and dark blend of tunes that i am sure only he posseses which gives him a very unique sound.
