It's the age old question (well actually its kinda recent.) I myself don't think it does, its just a way for music to move forward lets look at Napster for example: With all things good, they’re always bad for you (or someone else). So unsurprisingly Napster (which is a good thing) Is being threatend with... well they're just been threatend, from all sides (well the sides which think they're losing money from all this.) They think that Napster are breaking copyrights © (well you always see that little © next to the word copyright © so I thought I'd put it in for you) and to be truthful with you (shock and horror) they ... I am saying all this as a person that loves music and has quite a large CD and MP3 collection (Not large compared to some but I am still proud of it!) I don't see what all the fuss is about with MP3's. Yes people can download them for free without anything going to the record companies, Yes some people use them as a substitute to buying music but that is not all they are used for. I see them as a medium that promotes bands and music all over the world. I personally have a collection of about 100 songs on MP3. Of that 100 more than 20 of them have made me decide to buy the album on CD. I often go to sites that give an MP3 of the week/month such ... Read the complete review

Well before I found napster I had coolected little under about 150 music cds, which some people may say was excesive and others say, no where near enough, buy some more. The Public are ripped off so much in this country for the purchase of nearly everything, but most importantly to me music. How can you charge such stupidly high rates for products that can be bought abroad in America, Germany, for 2/3 of the price that we pay for them. The goverment is so into taxation, that they are becoming greedy for growth and competetiveness. Which leads me on to a site where the bartering of mp3 seems totally legit. Kill this another will be born on the internet, and kill that the . Read the complete review

Okay, so the News is continually full of stories of ‘The Big Bad Companies’ which enable you to download some of your favourite songs onto your computer free of charge, and thanks to News coverage, some of us have got it into our heads that these profitless companies are bad and should be shutdown at all costs - but are they really as bad as they seem? Three pounds ninety nine is not the most attractive price that you want to be paying just for one CD single, which, in it’s defence does have three or sometimes four songs on, but usually the same song just remixed. So you get your £3.99 single home and listen to it a few times then it gets put away ... Read the complete review

I would like to congratulate the napster team finally getting the MP3 format noticed with a new, fresh and inovative idea to offer the web community! I think that the music industry really does hhave to face the facts and understandthat MP3 is here to stay! I think that they are going to beat it, is to use it and work together with music lovers from around the globe! The best thing for them to do is think about why musice lovers are going on the music 'Black Market' and downloading MP3. Once they understand this then they can make better systems for distributing their music! All this boils down to really is money! ... Read the complete review
