Ash - Live: ... front of us we could see the screens clearly anyway. The ground was dry and grassy not lush grass but enough so we were not sitting on dust. The audience was not huge most people were just chilling out. Ash was on at 7.35 we stood Ash played it was perfect a good band to start the festival with playing, punk pop rock music. Looking around me at the audience lots of happy smiling contented faces. Ash were ca...

... stardom is a strange anomaly. It can change nice quiet ordinary people into greedy, pretentious megalomaniacs who want all the benefits of fame and fortune yet show complete apathy towards their fans. But every once in a while a band comes along who shun the trend and give something back to the fans. Ash played the 300 capacity Barnsley theatre in December 2000 in front of a passionate and knowledgable crowd. This really was a show for the fans; they voted on the internet for which venues the band should play, and also voted for the songs that should be in the setlist. Ash have further embraced the technological age by recently releasing the song 'Warmer Tha...

... have had a fantastic 2001, five top 30 singles, a number 1 album, plenty of festivals and a number of UK tours. The people who managed to catch them live will know that one of the best ways to hear Ash is to listen to them live, and Ash brought out this live performance of them at the Akasaka Blitz in Tokyo in September 2001. I?m reviewing the DVD, but it is also available on VHS. The first thing that struck me about this DVD is the way it?s presented - plenty of bright, vibrant colours for the menus, with neat animations as you traverse the menus. Ash have really embraced technology on their recent releases, their album contained a PC video mixer to allow you make...

Myfanw Ash in general
... first heard of Ash when they released their album 1977. I bought it as it was only £4.99 on tape and I played it to death. They had loads of catchy songs which i could bop my head to whcih is the kind of music I like! I was lucky enough to see them play at my freshers ball at Swansea University in September 1998. They played a blinding cover of does you mother know by Abba, which i thought was excellent!!! I was quite impressed by their live show and bought nu-clear sounds. I wasn't as impressed with nu-clear sounds as I had been with 1977 and it hasn't really had much play in my stereo. They disapeered for a while and have returned recently with some e...
