Advantages: just generally a good album

Disadvantages: Too many songs for one album

Before I start, I would like to assure people i bought this album before it so deservedly won the mercury music prize. Good words to describe this album would be 'Magical' and 'Enchanting'. It has all the flow of the water that Damon Gough so often seems to write about. The mixture of extraordinary lyrics and vocal styles, not to mention the outstanding talent to play most of the instruments featured on the album, with only a bit of help from fellow musicians such as Doves, makes this album something special.
There is an eclectic blend of ballad, pop, rock and even an organ solo ('Bewilder'). 18 tracks is a lot for one album, but when you hear it you realise there are not really any songs worthy of being took off.
Best Tracks are the singles 'Disillusion' and 'Once around The Block', the opener 'The Shining', the falsetto-but-in-a-good-way 'Cause a Rockslide' and finally 'This Song'. Not that the rest are bad, 'cos they're not. At all. Just buy the album.
