... am a great fan of Basement Jaxx. Their unique brand of club-type music is innovative and complex, unlike so many of its bedfellows. I can picture a great deal of people shunning Basement Jaxx (as I initially did) for their seeming simplicity, but this I believe would be a mistake. Songs like Red Alert and Bingo Bango aren’t meant to be pondered over and analysed – they’re meant to be enjoyed, at a base sort of dancing about level. And enjoy them I do, as should you. Emerging from the underground, garage house scene in London, they amazed the world with their no-holds-barred approach to modern house and hip-hop.
