... popular Red Alert down to mellower tracks such as Rendez-Vous. I find the album so infectious that I just have to keep playing it......preferably as loud as possible. If you remotely like anything by Basement Jaxx I strongly recommend you own this album. It's one of the most refreshing albums I've heard in years, probably because it's diverse and creative. Basement Jaxx in general ... am a great fan of Basement Jaxx. Their unique brand of club-type music is innovative and complex, unlike so many of its bedfellows. I can picture a great deal of people shunning Basement Jaxx (as I initially did) for their seeming simplicity, but this I believe would be a mistake. Songs like Red Alert and Bingo Bango aren’t meant to be pondered over and analysed – they’re meant to be enjoyed, at a base sort of dancing about level. And enjoy them I do, as should you. Basement Jaxx in general ... Jaxx exploded onto the music scene last year with their hit album Remedy. Emerging from the underground, garage house scene in London, they amazed the world with their no-holds-barred approach to modern house and hip-hop. Their music is extremely well-made and tight: something you can't really say about many music groups right now. Basement Jaxx is comprised of duo mix-masters Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe. Although in reality they look like just another pair of pasty, British guys (hehe), under that soft, white interior lies a highly developed sensibility on groove and funk.
