I have only ever seen the Beastie Boys Live twice. Once in the late 80's on the Def Jam tour at Brixton Academy and then last year in Glasgow, Two totally different shows But high energy, all the best songs and much fun. Long gone is the 20ft high inflatable penis and VW badges as these mid 30's blokes jump around and rock the house in shirt and tie. Dj Hurricane was rubbish !! there I said it. Mixmaster Mike is wicked !! He keeps the show tight and throws in as many breaks as he can to keep the crowd bobbing. MCA, Ad Rock and Mike D hit off of each other as only they can. The only bad point is when the pick up their guitars and play ... Read the complete review

Now hear this... I aint a lyrical genious, however I do know it when I hear it. These three jewish boys from Ny sure know how to kick it. I'm telling you, they got the illest rhymes, with thought provoking lyrics. They have the 3 i's, Intelegence, Integerty, and intensity. Do what you can, but don't dis the boys. They're old skool adidas, and yellow jumpsuits... Been around for years, and past the test of time. PEace out YO! Yeah they're old, yeah they're rich... There isn't anything better, smarter, or wizer... so go to the fridge and drink a bud-wizer ... Read the complete review

The Beasties finally release a new song. It protests the war against Iraq and happens to share view the insight I share with anyone who cares to listen. Musically, it's works as a solid extension of the beats processed in Hello Nasty. Many short and inane reviews read by pigheaded and so-called fans rank on the Beasties for thier views and lyrics used. As a listener that focuses on lyrics when there's an attempt at relevancy, these lyrics are superb. The only line that sounds and reads lame is: "George Bush youีre looking like Zoolander trying to play tough for the camera" line. Obviously, when reading the lyrics, this is by ... B Boys rule! By Steven Hill I have had the joy of listening to the majority of beastie boys stuff laid down and to have seen them perform and I will go as far as to say they are the most talented and intellectual hip hoppers on the planet. With a kick ass DJ to boot. Their videos are so sweet and they even manage to have a live show that seems like they are just as wacky in real life. Lyrical geniuses each of them but they also go much deeper. With a social concience they are aware of the plight of the tibetan people and strive to help the dalai lama promote the hardships these people endure. They also at every public opportunity try to bring attention to ... Read the complete review

The Beastie Boys have been at it for ages. And I for one hope they’re at it for a long while yet. Their sense of cool is shockingly accurate (if such a sense could be termed accurate, or even a sense) and they consistently make you want to leap about in a hip hop fashion. Their albums are all of an impressive quality, with some (Paul’s Bouique, for example) being outstanding efforts. They make really funky, really funny, really cool music, and have been making it for years and years. Long live the Beastie Boys. ... Read the complete review
