Beck has been a role model for many young musiciens starting out in an underground environment. His album "One foot in the Grave" considered to be the most inspirational album. Beck is the most great artist of our times. You may find this a wild claim, but please with-hold this initial emotional response and listen to the truth. The roughly recorded Mellow Gold was the first Beck album I owned. I over played it to myself. I grew stranger. This album is absolutely splendid. Every track is loaded with twistedness, greatbeatedness and unwholesome jerkishness. Odelay, and the rest were all almost equally great, but nothing will ever be as good as the master himself live. Odelay, in my opinion Beck’s greatest accomplishment to date, is an album that everybody should own. His other albums are also well worthy of praise, but perhaps will appeal to fewer people. With Odelay, and to a slightly lesser extent his other albums, Beck Hansen proves that he is funny, talented, and immensely cool. His frequent pastiches of musical styles are pulled off brilliantly, because he has the skill to perform in that style without his tongue in his cheek. As a result, his music is highly eclectic, highly funny, and highly accomplished. The iconic Beck is one of the best American artists of the 90s. ...
