Billy is one of my favourite artists, I've always been a fan, ever since he emerged, and even now I'm a fan, and buy all his albums.

Billy Joel was born was born in Long Island New York, he is noted for being a singer, songwriter and pianist.

His hit "Just The Way You Are", got to number 19 in the UK and won two grammie awards, it was also a hit for Barry White.

His first number one was "Its Still Rock n Roll To Me". His Lp "Stranger" became the biggest selling Columbia Lp ever although it only reached number 2 in the charts, however it still managed to sell over five million copies, which sold even more than Simon and Garfunkels, "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

In 1983 he brought out "An Innocent Man" which got to number four in the charts and gave him five top thirty singles, both here and in America.

The video for his hit "Uptown Girl" featured model Christie Brinkley who later married him.

In his teens he nearly commited suicide and so he dedicated the record "You're Only Human (Second Wind)" of his greatest hits double album, to would be youth suicides.

He also devotes a lot of his time to charities in this field. People compare him to Elton John for his lyrics and catchy tunes but I prefer Billy Joel any day.

My favourite songs are "Piano Man", "Antonys Song" and "Uptown Girl".
