I’ve grown accustomed to it now, although I still prefer it when he goes into over-the-top high vocals (their excellent song ‘Mirror Mirror’ is the best example of this) as it masks the dialect and also shows bands like the Darkness how girlie screaming should really be done. He does improve with every album also, which is surely a good thing. I am literally short-sighted, but I must educate you readers who are metaphorically blind in the ears. Blind Guardian are the leaders of the European power metal scene. They have good eyesight. At least you were spared the other terrible pun titles. Describing the power metal scene in Britain as ‘virtually non-existent’ is like saying Eric Idle has done absolutely nothing of interest whatsoever since he was in Monty Python, in that both statements are simply objective fact. I don't know too much about them......they are from Germany and they are a sort of folk/metal band. I'd describe them as bards with electric guitars!! haha. Well maybe not but anyway......They are simply great, heavy in the right place with lots of melody and VERY powerful voices with great harmonys. They can also play great classical type guitar on songs such as "The Bard's song" which is a real treat. So if you are into the melodic side of metal they fit the bill perfectly, very good. For fun they have done several songs "rock up" like Mr Sandman, Spread your wings, Barbara Anne and Surfin USA!!....good to hear with double bass ...  Read the complete review
