Blind Melon in general

Blind Melon are an awesome band. In my opinion they have also been drastically under-rated. I never heard of them until I was in my 20s for example! The lead singer's voice is brilliant - so strong and yet fragile, with a slight quaver and always heaps of passion. His song writing is really amazing too - often dealing with quite dark subject matter in a very stark but beautiful way. The band has had a number of album releases but still seem to have only a relatively small (though passionate) following. Blind Melon - Nico Named after Shannon Hoon's daughter Nico Blue, this album is raw and unpretentious, I'd love to hear more bands do albums like this, getting rid of the production ties and letting it all go at the seams! 'Nico' is basically a collection of odd tracks collected during Blind Melon's rein and put together as a tribute to thier lead singer Shannon Hoon...
