Im a little embarrassed to admit that I actually went to see these guys live. I even paid about £22 when I went to see them at the Nottingham Ice Arena in Feb this year. To be honest this isn’t really my kind of music (i like heavier punk) but I thought, big band, local, punk:- might as well go. Anyway the main reason I even considered going is because the only pop-punk band I like (Screeching Weasel) are gone and apparently these guys are the closest thing. Blink 182 are a band, that are on top of the world, at least at the moment. They are riding high in the popularity stakes, and they are being hailed as the biggest punk band of the last 10 years. And rightly too. The music is great, the lyrics hilarious and their sense of humour....well they are lued and rude to say the least. They don't care what anyone thinks of htem. They don't care if people think that they "sold out" or that they aren't "punk enough". They are just happy playing to the fans and doing what they want to do.
