It started to rain, then it rained a bit more until Bon Jovi came onstage in a torrential thunder storm, I can honestly say I've never been so wet in my life and the gig had only just started, it got wetter!!! Premium Review Bon Jovi - Live: One Wild Weekend (2394 words)
by - written on 21/06/01 (Very useful, 300 readings)
Rating:

This isn’t the normal op for this category, but technically I think it fits here. It all began on Friday 15th June 2001 in Oxford, as I was supposed to be revising for my first year exams (the following Monday). As, quite frankly, anything seemed more interesting than IS-LM analysis (economics), it didn’t take much to persuade me to put this off. When I heard Jon Bon Jovi had been confirmed as a speaker at the Union, I decided it would probably be the most productive use of my time (after all, you need breaks whilst studying!) There was some confusion over when he was speaking (the term card read TBA and it was all arranged at the last minute, so ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review One Wild Night in Cardiff! (560 words)
by - written on 19/06/01 (Very useful, 476 readings)
Rating:

I was lucky enough to see Bon Jovi last night (17/06/01) at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff. I have seen Bon Jovi about four times live and each time they have not been a disappointment. Bon Jovi are not considered to be trendy any more yet they have just played several large British concerts and have had a number 1 album recently. Whenever you see Bon Jovi live you know that you will be entertained. They are proud of how successful they are and they are also very grateful for their fans. You can tell by the way they smile and joke around on stage that they are really enjoying themselves and that performing live is not a chore. Last nights concert was ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bon Jovi - Live: A long, happy day. (422 words)

I've just returned (yes it is VERY late at night/early morning!) from seeing Bon Jovi live at Milton Keynes Bowl (Saturday 16th June) having gone more or less on impulse after some persuasion from a dear friend. To put you in the picture I haven't been out "properly" for the best part of two years due to illness/disability so this was quite a big leap for me! Out for nearly 12 hours solid (though admittedly a lot of that was travelling) and going on spec to sold out concert with no ticket ( I got one from a tout outside for a reasonable price) Anyway, on to the important part - the performance from Bon Jovi. The last time I saw them ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review New Live Album!! (421 words)
by - written on 30/05/01 (Very useful, 94 readings)
Rating:

I have been a fan of Bon Jovi for some time now, ever since my son introduced me to them, and have always found the concert or live performances to be of a high standard so you can imagine my excitement when I found out there was a live album out!!! Released on the 14th May 2001 it contains 15 tracks from 1998 to 2001 taken from their numerous world tours. From Zurich to Tokyo, London to New York and Toronto to Melbourne with tracks from Yokohama and Johannesburg too this album encapsulates, for me, everything that live rock concerts are about. The atmosphere, the interaction with the crowd and the energy is all there in this album. Many of Bon ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bon Jovi - Live: 25th August - etched in my brain for life (297 words)
by - written on 02/10/01 (Very useful, 110 readings)

I don't normally travel far to concerts, but my sisters birthday is Aug. 25th what better reason for a trip to Ireland, birthday and Bon Jovi! We'd gone early, to get near the front. The day was dull but never mind, we sat patiently in the queue. To get into the pit at the front you need a pass, you get one by either being in the fanclub, or first to the front, usually. The fan club stand opened and a handful of people turned up, not people were there yet as it was a dull day, so they started to come down the queue giving out the passes, wow! Once inside we made our way down to the pit and waited. It started to rain, then it rained a bit more ...  Read the complete review
