Advantages: Lots of hits, Good stage presence, 2+ hours of entertainment
Disadvantages: None
I was lucky enough to see Bon Jovi last night (17/06/01) at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff. I have seen Bon Jovi about four times live and each time they have not been a disappointment. Bon Jovi are not considered to be trendy any more yet they have just played several large British concerts and have had a number 1 album recently. Whenever you see Bon Jovi live you know that you will be entertained. They are proud of how successful they are and they are also very grateful for their fans. You can tell by the way they smile and joke around on stage that they are really enjoying themselves and that performing live is not a chore. Last nights concert was in the following order: One Wild Night Raise your hands You give love a bad name In these arms It's my life Born to be my Baby Always I got the girl Older Wild in the Streets Blaze of glory Lay your hands on me Keep the Faith Bad Medicine/Shout Encore 1 These Days Someday it will be Saturday Night Encore 2 Sleep when I'm dead Tequila Twist and Shout Wanted dead or alive Livin on a prayer Never say goodbye As you can see they played lots of songs which is not unusual for a Bon Jovi concert. Seeing them live is guaranteed to be worth every penny of the ticket price. They started off the concert with their latest hit "One Wild Night". In the past they have started with "Livin on a Prayer" but their recent smash is a good alternative. With Bon Jovi you know that you are in for 2+ hours of hit after hit. Infact if the band were to play all their hits from the past they would have a concert twice as long. My personal favourites last night were "Lay your hands on me" and "In these arms". As I said earlier I have seen Bon Jovi play many times over the past couple of years but last night would rate along with their best. The band seem
to be enjoying themselves again after a long break and Jon Bon Jovi seems to be back in the swing of singing. He took a little break to do some acting but he obviously missed being in the band and he seems very happy. Love or hate Bon Jovi there is not denying that they are a very good live band. Jon Bon Jovi has a very good stage presence and he knows exactly what to do to keep the crowd entertained. Just a little bit about the venue. The Millenium stadium is an excellent concert venue. It has the retractable roof which was close last night for the concert. The stadium has excellent seating so that no matter where you sit you will always get a good view. Standing also offers a good view as there are big screens which are easily seen. Overall an excellent evening from an excellent band. Well what else would you expect from the best Rock band on the planet!

chris105 - 10/07/01 Bon Jovi are not so hot for me, though I like their music! I agree, however, that their being branded "non-hip" is unfair and uncalled-for, given how successful they still are.
