Bond is an all girl group that plays classical music in an upbeat style. They were doing very well in the classical charts until it was deemed, by the powers that be, that their music is not classical. It isn't classical music played in the usual style but it is still classical. There seems to be a problem with slotting this group into the right music genre. For non-lovers of classical music, this group bridges the gap. The girls are real musicians who play real instruments. They are all classically trained and two of them have first class music degrees. It was refreshing to see a new group on tonight's Jim Davidson Show on BBC 1. What was most refreshing ws the appearance of a new, all girl group called 'Bond'. They are an all instrumental string (quintet) ensemble and they played 'cross-over' classical-pop which I believe might just catch on! The fact that they are being promoted as a modern act with eye appeal will do them no harm at all. I would suggest that Bond have a future and I for one will watch their career with interest. PS We here in Glasgow have our own equivilent, in the shape of an all girl string quartet who 'busk' by playing the ...
