I was around 11 when Britney released her first song, and I was a big fan. I remember listening to her first album as a cassette on my Walkman repeatedly. I drove everyone else mad, so I'm surprised I didn't get sick of it sooner!

Since then I've grown up a lot...I'm 22 now, and though I still listen to and like some of her songs, I'm nowhere near as interested!

Although her songs are catchy she rarely (if ever?) sings them live, and after watching Britney-style X Factor I can see why - it's almost impossible to make them sound good without digital enhancement! I think it's more the happy dancing and her general talents as a performer that have kept people interested - but she's been getting more and more disappointing recently. Perhaps complacent, or trying to ignore people telling her what to do all the time as much, I don't know.

I do feel sorry for her though as I don't think she has any idea who she is - being in showbiz from a really young age and being pushed by her family, especially her mum, she's already done more than most people do in a lifetime but she isn't happy. And with the whole world seeing her problems and judging her, I can't imagine how tough it must be. And with news articles and gossip magazines always going back to things she's done like shaving her head and marrying Kevin, in a way she'll never be able to escape them or even forget them temporarily.

Overall, I hope things get better for her and she gets a chance to be out of the limelight for a while. If I were her I'd quit completely, but I guess she's signed into contracts and stuff.
