Blimey … and so at last the mighty Cabs make it onto the subject listing of Dooyoo. Cabaret Voltaire were one of the most extraordinary outfits that came to prominence during the new wave explosion of the late 70's with their avant garde, experimental, industrial, electronic sound. They have never made a major commercial breakthrough and yet their importance should not be questioned. Most people are probably unaware of the existence of Cabaret Voltaire but their influence on modern electronic music is perhaps equal to that of the other legendary bands like Kraftwerk and Throbbing Gristle. Cabaret Voltaire like the aforementioned artists have existed from the early 70’s and have evolved their sound throughout their long career, living the footprints and case notes for a generation of bands working in the Industrial and Techno fields.
